Just in case...

No, I didn’t forget that I have a blog. I just put a few things on the back burner for a little while. This time of year is generally busy in this house. This year is especially busy. The In-laws came for a visit. I planned a family party and a kid party for my now eight year old. (Not sure what’s easier to cope with… Hosting my Family or 9 little girls). And on top of that I’m working like a fiend to get ready for a vendor show this weekend. You know, for that little jewelry business I have.

Anyway, since I have re-prioritized temporarily, I need to delegate a few tasks. So if you should happen to be here helping out, there are a few things you might need to know to make life easier.

If you run the dishwasher, you need to twist the door to the right then push down on that side before you close the door. Then you have a 50/50 chance that it won’t leak while it’s running. Watch out for water on the floor when it’s done. My cute little blonde butterfly daughter fell on the opened door twice. (Nope, didn’t learn after the first time she fell)

If you need to use the oven, add at least 25 degrees to the temp you really want. Then once it’s preheated and you open it to put your stuff in you’ll need to turn it off and then back on. Make sure you hear the thermostat click on. Not sure what happened but we think it got fried during a power serge. Just a little temperamental now but it usually gets hot.

If your drive my van and it’s raining, don’t try to adjust the wipers. They started hitting each other last year and we had them “fixed” and now they do what they want. They always work but they just go at what ever speed they feel like. Unpredictable but doable.

If you need to talk to the hubby get eye contact first. You’ll have a better chance that he might really be listening. But be careful, he’ll hear the first few words and try to analyze how to fix the problem before you’re done talking so sometimes the point you’re making gets lost. Good luck.

I think that covers most of the quirks here.

Do you have any funny little quirks that you’re dealing with in your daily life? I’d love to know I’m not alone.

Letter to my blog

Dear Blog,

I know I have not been doing the best job of keeping up with you lately. Not only have I been lax at making new posts, but also I have been neglectful of commenting on other blogs. I’m sorry to say it might just get worse before it gets better. It’s not for a lack of ideas or desire just very limited time right now.

I do have several blog posts that I’m planning but those projects need finished first. On top of the many projects I’m working on we have some planning to focus on with my big girl making her First Holy Communion in less that five weeks. I still need to steam the dress, finish making the veil and size her rosary bracelet. (There’s a blog post there just waiting to happen).

With that event comes the panic to finish household projects so things look good for all the subsequent guests attending her reception/party. Oh, yes, more blog posts waiting to get photographed and published. (Too many ideas in my head not enough time on my watch.)

All this while I also decorate and plan for the bunny's visit. (You bet, more blog posts there too)

I know there are other blog authors who are also busy so I’m not trying to sound like I’m making excuses, just maybe asking for a little leniency towards how often I get to you. Not that I don’t love you but I am spread a little thin. Miss you greatly and promising to check in as much as possible until my “to do” list clears up somewhat and I get back to more regular posts and comments.

Sincerely,

Rebecca

Back to Blogging Soon

It has been such a busy, busy holiday week/weekend. A play date one day, off to the local theater for a kid show of Cinderella the next, then to lunch with the wild kiddos. Check in with a friend to see if she’s had that baby yet….NO. Go to an outdoor concert to start the 4th festivities (on the 2nd) then to a friend’s house to run off some steam and get the little man covered in sand. Quick bath and catch some fireflies. Next day, up to serenade the “baby”. Little man is officially TWO! Let the terrible twos begin! Out the door for the best parade in the state, grand marshaled by our towns own Bobby Vinton!!! Tailgate there for a good 3 hours, home for a short nap (baby and Dad only) then off to a friends house for swimming, cook out, bon fire, more lightening bugs and fireworks!!!!!
Sleep hard and fast because we’re up early for church then a few chores while the big 2 year old naps then to a family picnic. Whew, got the girls off to art camp, time for mama to re-group and get ready for another busy week. Back to some real blogging soon, there are all kinds of topics floating around my head.
