Ten-Minute Project

It really did take just about ten minutes to make. Thank goodness too because that’s about all the time I had to work on something. It’s go, go, go over here. I keep thinking that I’ll have time to get bigger projects done or that I can sit down a put together a nice blog post. Funny thing about time, the more you think you’re going to get the less that you really end up with.

Anyway, in my continued effort to organize and to help increase the independence level of my girly girls, I made this hair clip organizer.

I had some extra wood tags in my craft drawer and some old ribbon. (The tags come in a sheet and you pop out the size and shape you want. They’re nice to add to special gifts or for little craft projects.)

I painted the tag and then added a decorative flower to the front.

With some hot glue I attached a strip of ribbon to the back of the tag.
I slipped a small ribbon through the hole to use as a hanger.

Since my sewing machine was already out for another project I just changed the thread color quick and stitched a hem on the bottom of the big ribbon to give it a more finished look.

Now all their fancy hair clips have a place of their own. The girls have been wearing their fancy hair clips a lot more now that they can see and find them so easily.

Yep, I made most of those hair clips too. They needed them for different outfits. What can I say, I love to accessorize.
This organizer hangs on the wall behind the bathroom door. It's low enough that the girls can reach their clips but high enough that little man can't reach.

Thats really cool - and what you did in ten minutes would take me about 4 days and it wouldn't look anything near as awesome!
